Craig Chu

President

Craig Chu, FSA, EA, is a pension actuary with twenty years of experience in valuation and audits of pension plans. He currently works with the New York State and Local Retirement System, at the Office of the State Comptroller. His experience ranges from corporate audits to executive variable annuity designs, software development, and public sector valuation, plan design, and compliance testing.

Cynthia is an experienced actuary with over 30 years experience and a strong interest in research, particularly in applying modern statistical methods to complex datasets for discovering predictors of contingent outcomes. She was previously the executive director of the Arditti Center for Risk Management at DePaul University’s Driehaus College of Business in Chicago.

Tyler Furman is an ASA-certified professional specializing in software development, process automation, process flow documentation, and data analysis. They are the founder of Nice Technologies, where they are creating a lightweight platform that empowers actuaries with innovative tools. A dedicated activist since their college years, they are a passionate advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Jonah von der Embse

Regulatory & Advocacy

Jonah is a Corporate Vice President and Actuary at New York Life Insurance Company, focusing on regulatory and financial oversight, asset liability management, and Principles Based Reserving.

Claire Kingstad

Claire is a retirement consultant specializing in de-risking strategies for Defined Benefit pension plans. She acts as an actuarial liaison for diverse clients across private and public sectors, supporting plan administration, terminations, annuity placements, and fiduciary-focused solutions.

Dan DiMugno

Dan has 15 years of experience across a variety of P&C roles including pricing, reserving, and business analytics. He is currently an AVP at Travelers Insurance, focused on catastrophe analytics.
