David Daly, ASA, CERA, MAAA (he/him)
President

Dave is an individual life and annuity actuary with 8 years of experience in annuity product development, consulting, and financial reporting. He currently serves as an Associate Actuary for Allianz Life Insurance of North America leading product risk management. As an ardent volunteer within the actuarial community promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the actuarial profession, he is the current president of the Sexuality and Gender Alliance of Actuaries (SAGAA) and a member of the Joint Committee on Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity. He resides with his partner in the Twin Cities of Minnesota.

Craig Chu, FSA, EA, MAAA, FCA (he/him)
Secretary

Craig Chu, FSA, EA, is a pension actuary with twenty years of experience in valuation and audits of pension plans. He currently works with the New York State and Local Retirement System, at the Office of the State Comptroller. His experience ranges from corporate audits to executive variable annuity designs, software development, and public sector valuation, plan design, and compliance testing.

Simone Walker, FCAS, MAAA (she/her)
Treasurer

Simone Walker is a Senior Actuarial Consultant at Edgewater Actuarial Insights with almost 20 years of actuarial experience spanning across both P&C Personal and Commercial lines Pricing, Reserving, and Product Management. She has volunteered as a tutor and mentor with the 100 Black Men of Chicago and the YMCA, held key leadership roles within the International Association of Black Actuaries (IABA), and is a current candidate for Board of Directors of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Sanja Zehnder, FSA, MAAA (she/her)
Board Member

Sanja has 20 years of experience as a health actuary, specializing in new product development and pricing. Her focus is on Long Term Care, Medicare Supplement, and Supplemental Health products. She is currently VP of Health Product Management at CNO Financial Group in Chicago.

Cynthia Edwalds, FSA, ACAS, MAAA (she/her)
Board Member

Cynthia is an experienced actuary with over 30 years experience and a strong interest in research, particularly in applying modern statistical methods to complex datasets for discovering predictors of contingent outcomes. She was previously the executive director of the Arditti Center for Risk Management at DePaul University’s Driehaus College of Business in Chicago.

Board Member

Jonah is a Corporate Vice President and Actuary at New York Life Insurance Company, focusing on regulatory and financial oversight, asset liability management, and Principles Based Reserving.

Tyler Furman (He/They)

Tyler Furman is an ASA-certified professional specializing in software development, process automation, process flow documentation, and data analysis. They are the founder of Nice Technologies, where they are revolutionizing the actuarial landscape by creating a lightweight platform that empowers actuaries with innovative tools. A dedicated activist since their college years, they are a passionate advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, supporting the queer community and promoting greater awareness and support for individuals of all backgrounds and experiences.
